What's the Big Idea? led by Oliver Emanuel
Audiences are spoilt for choice right now with the availability of stories - on stage, screen, radio and in other forms of fiction. How do you strengthen your play idea - and make it stand out from all the rest?
Playwrights' Studio Associate Playwright Oliver Emanuel (Flight, The 306 Trilogy) takes you through a story and ideas workout: how to generate them, crystallise them and talk about them.
This workshop will assist in improving your ideas and guiding your writing and redrafting. It will also help you to:
- increase your confidence when talking to directors, programmers or potential supporters about the story you want to tell
- assert why you are the only person who can tell it
Ideally suited for aspiring/emerging playwrights, or more experienced writers looking for a refresher.
If you have an idea that's beginning to percolate, this workshop will give it the best chance to be fully realised.
