Join us for a lively discussion about the past, present and future of playwriting in Dundee. What makes a great Dundee play? Are there stories about Dundee that haven't yet been seen on stage? Where are the urgent new voices coming from and what do they sound like?

Locked In -low -2 Robert Ballantine

Robert Ballantine writes for the theatre and television. The use of music is an important feature in most of his plays. He has also written film scripts, a novel and some poetry. Bob's satirical comedy Standing Stanes was very successfully produced by innovative professional theatre company Siege Perilous. Bob has recently written a new play Locked In.
Jaimini Jethwa Jamini Jethwa

Jaimini graduated from the University of Westminster BA (Hons) Film, Television and Photographic Arts where she studied with Toni Grisoni 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'. She also studied at the National Film School and Northern Film School screenwriting.She has worked with Dundee Rep, National Theatre Scotland and Stellar Quines on her latest play Last Queen Of Scotland.
John McCann John McCann

Originally from County Armagh in Northern Ireland, John now lives in Dundee. Work includes The Cleanroom, Spoiling, The Next of It and DUPedJohn has also been under commission with The Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and Replay Theatre Company, Belfast.
Garyr Gary Robertson

Lead singer with  . Gary won the original BBC 2 SAS Are You Tough Enough series. He is a writer, author (Gangs of Dundee, Pure Dundee), poet, playwright (The Middle o' Nowhere), scaffie, piper, actor, Mountaineer. 
Sandy Thomson Sandy Thomson

Sandy Thomson (Monstrous Bodies, D*amned Rebel Bitches) is a playwright and dramaturg. She is also Artistic Director of Poorboy Theatre for whom she regularly writes new stage and audio works. She was a recepient of a Playwrights' Studio, Scotland Writers Project in 2012.
