Megaphone, Theatre Residency for Artists of Colour

The three selected applicants will each receive a bursary of £2,500, as well as mentoring and rehearsal space to enhance their residency.
This project will be produced and supported by the Workers Theatre, a new co-operative theatre company in Scotland. Each artist receiving a bursary will be invited to share their work at the Workers Theatre's first pop up festival in June 2017 at the Glad Cafe.
Applications are welcomed from artists of colour - working across theatre, sound, dance, story-telling, spoken word and other performing arts - who wish to undertake a new theatre project.
They will consider applicants from all levels of experience.
Applicants must be:
- Resident in Scotland
- Over 18 years of age
- A self-defined person of colour
You can use the Megaphone Residency to work alone or with collaborators (paid at ITC rates from the bursary) to write, research, develop, and/or devise a new idea, play, or performance. The residency could also be used to complete further development of a not yet fully-produced, project.
Residencies will run through from April 2017- June 2017.
