Julie is an award winning playwright from Glasgow. She was mentored with the Playwrights' Studio, Scotland in 2012.
Julie is currently on a two year professional writers programme with Yellow Earth Theatre in London, with a seed-commission to write a full length play.
Her short play Lilyburgh Lane was one of the four plays to win the Scotland Short Play Award in 2017 and her play Troon was performed as part of A View from Here at Theatre 503 in London in 2015.
Julie's plays have had readings at the Tron Theatre, Traverse Theatre and Soho Theatre. Her plays have been performed with In Motion Theatre, Tron 100 festival, Village Pub Theatre, Play Pieces, Makeshift Broadcast, Toasted Fiction, Stage to Page, Progressive Playwright, New Inck Theatre and Mayfesto at the Tron.
Julie was shortlisted for Scotland Short Play Award in 2015 and the Progressive Playwright Award in 2016.
Julie's poem My Body Bleeds is published in a collective of spoken word poets by Merchiston Publishing 2017 and A Sinking Hole will be published this autumn in an anthology with Uncovered Voices 2018. Her poems have been read at events for International Women's Day and Book Week Scotland 2018.
Julie is a facilitator for Stage to Page, a voluntary collective of writers, directors and actors who meet monthly to conduct short public workshops of scenes from brand new plays.
