Riccardo Galgani
Riccardo Galgani was born in Glasgow in 1969 and had his first
play, Acts, produced by the Traverse Theatre in 1999.
Further Traverse produced plays include Green Field (2002)
and The Found Man (2005).
He was also Pearson Playwright in Residence at the Traverse
between 2001 and 2002.
Additional writing work has included screenplay adaptations and
script rewriting, as well as writing and directing festival
exhibited short films.
Prior to writing professionally, Riccardo studied for a PhD in
philosophy. In 2005 he moved to Madrid to focus on developing his
work as a playwright.
Having returned to Scotland, Riccardo has recently completed a new play TEAE/Gemma (2015) which was written with the support of Creative Scotland.
