Professional Workshop Programme

We are always open to working with writers, organisations or groups with projects or ideas which may not otherwise fit the criteria of our other resources.

The Professional Workshop Programme provides established playwrights with resources (such as actors and directors or dramaturgs) to help the development of new scripts. The development is writer-led, putting the playwright and their needs at the heart of the process.

If you are an established playwright who has a play you would like to develop, or an organisation or group which has an idea they would like to take forward, please contact Playwrights' Studio, Scotland's Creative Director Fiona Sturgeon Shea to discuss your proposed project on 0141 332 4403 or

Playwrights' Studio, Scotland cannot guarantee funding for every project proposed but we will endeavour to find other ways to assist the writer, organisation or group in such cases.

(The Professional Workshop Programme was formerly known as Creating Space or Writer Development.)
