Accidental Theatre open call for their GB-wide online Writers’ Circle has just opened up for writers and playwrights across GB and we thought it would be important to reach out to yourselves to see if you can help us get the word out to playwrights.
The Writers’ Circle brings together a select group of 6-8 talented playwrights and novelists dedicated to advancing their own work, and the work of the group. The Circle offers writers a high level of sustained support, providing consistent guidance and development throughout rather than the more flexible, informal or occasional support typically available elsewhere. It is designed for writers who have a full script, or novel, and who would benefit greatly from support before sending it onward to theatres or publishers. The Circle is an open, competitive application process, with places offered to writers whose work stands out.
In 2027, the circle will be lead by Dr. Dane Holt, whose writing has appeared in Winter Papers, TLS, Granta, The London Magazine and elsewhere. His debut, Father’s Father’s Father, was published in 2025 by Carcanet.
Feedback:
“I would be surprised if anyone in the group didn't say that they made serious progress over the past 6 months - I could see the growth in everyone's work from month to month.”
"Being able to have a space to maintain that connection was invaluable to moving my work to the next level, because I had a group of people who understood my work in progress, the ways in which I best received feedback, and who were able to point out my own growth and development when I was having moments of lapsing confidence.”
Deadline: Tuesday, December 1st 2026
