Off the Page is an opportunity to hear your play read aloud by professional actors. It aims to give playwrights the chance to work through a creative problem in their play with the guidance of an experienced writer in the room.
Status: Currently Closed
Playwrights' Studio Scotland runs this service for A Play, A Pie and A Pint. Anyone can send a play to be considered for production at A Play, A Pie and A Pint. The submissions window is open for three months at a time.

Our free script reading service provides an opportunity for Scotland's writers to receive valuable script feedback from theatre professionals.

EPAD’s Supported Residencies programme aims to support the creation of new work and to build connections between Edinburgh-based performing arts creatives and venues across the city offering three one-week residencies, each with a specific artform or practice development focus.

A festival of new theatre writing inspired by the topics of the Stromness Debating Society. Free writing workshops and a competition for people with an Orkney connection to write a short play inspired by a Stromness Debating Society theme.

The Open Fund for Individuals is one of Creative Scotland's key funding programmes, supporting the wide range of activity initiated by artists, writers, producers and other creative practitioners in Scotland. The overall budget for this fund in the financial year 2021/22 is £5 million.

The Dewar Arts Award exists to fund exceptional artists in any discipline who do not have the financial means to achieve their full potential. To be considered for a Dewar Arts Award, an applicant must be under the age of 30 and live or work in Scotland.
