Open Call: Creative Practitioner Residencies

An open call for the latest set of Creative Practitioner Residencies from the Bothy Project. These week-long, solo residencies which take place at Sweeney's Bothy on the Isle of Eigg are fully-funded and dedicated to contemporary performance. The opportunity is open to those working in performance art, dance, choreography and theatre, and who have at least three years of active practice and are based in the UK.

The Creative Practitioner Residencies support critical, ambitious and challenging practices, and provide space and time for practitioners to focus without distraction in a unique landscape and off-grid space. It is not necessary for your work to engage with the residency location.

Each selected practitioner will receive:

  • One-week residency time at Sweeney’s Bothy

  • A fee of £750

  • Travel allowance of up to £300 (use of public transport is encouraged)

  • Online meeting opportunities with fellow residents

  • Participation in a post-residency online public event with fellow residents

Deadline: Midnight, 6th July 2025
