Glasgow Playwrights' Collective

Glasgow Playwrights' Collective is looking for new members for the 2026/27 season!

Glasgow Playwrights' Collective is a grassroots workshop group for playwrights developing new writing for the stage. The workshop seeks to provide a space for writers to experiment, to take risks, to ask questions, and most importantly, to develop without the immediate pressure of producing a finished product. Glasgow Playwrights' Collective is modelled on the Actor's Studio and Playwright/Directors Workshop in New York, with three playwrights sharing work for feedback every session.

The workshop is free to attend, with no lengthy application process or required number of past productions — we're looking first and foremost for people willing to engage with the work and with the other writers in the room.

Sessions are held twice a month in central Glasgow, 6–8pm on the first and third Tuesday. The current season will run until spring 2027. We ask that participants commit to attending at least 80% of sessions. The venue has step-free access throughout (wheelchair lift at main entrance) and wheelchair-accessible bathrooms on all floors.

To apply, fill out the expression of interest form here. If you have questions or want to come along to a session to see if the group is right for you, contact founder Karen Cecilia at glasgowplaywrightscollective@gmail.com.
