Joe Corrie

John Sturdie, a bachelor builder in the season of red roses, tries to secure a wife through the medium of a matrimonial agency. His friend, Peter Pratt, who has eyes on John's housekeeper, learns the secret from John himself. The arrangement is that he is to meet the unknown lady at a certain place and both of them have to wear a red rose. Imagine the shock when a spinster of the district whom John certainly doesn't like, calls in on her way to the town wearing a red rose.
